Osteopathy is a system of hands-on assessment and treatment for a wide range of conditions. Osteopaths use a variety of techniques to correct physical conditions such as back and neck pain, headache, physical injuries to bones, joints and muscles and many other physical and functional disorders.

Osteopaths have a particular interest in evidence-based diagnosis and treatment of the neuro-musculoskeletal system, and in pain management.

Osteopaths are registered by the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand as primary healthcare practitioners, which covers a broad range of health services in the community including diagnosis and treatment, health education and disease prevention and screening.

Kia ora, I am an osteopath lecturer and a clinic supervisor in the osteopathy programme at Ara. I am Canadian but trained to be an osteopath at Southern Cross University in Australia and have a special interest in breathing dysfunction.

I am honored to be part of the community here at Ara and aim to help facilitate a robust and meaningful clinical experience for our students and their patients. As a patient at the Ara teaching clinic, you are a part of something very special!
